Despacito is a song by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi, and Daddy Yankee became the song that was streamed the most within less than six months. It was a mixture of reggaeton, pop and rock not only brought renewed attention to reggaeton but it also drew interest towards Latin music generally. Billboard's Top 100 featured two songs in Spanish mostly, and four tracks in 2016. Despacito's popularity Despacito reached its peak in the year 2017. In 2020 the year 2020, 41 mainly Spanish songs will make the Top 100. Following Justin Bieber's bilingual remix of Despacito (2017) well-known artists soon began collaborating with reggaeton performers including Drake with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) as well as Madonna together with Maluma for Medellin (2019). From the beginning of 2020, a few reggaeton artists were unhappy with the way the genre was heading towards the more mainstream.
